Max's First Field Trip

I know I promised that I would have pictures up today, but I ran into a little difficulty. We were not allowed to use any flashes around the horses and so all the pics from inside the arena are so dark they cannot be seen. Then, all the pictures from outside are so bright that they are difficult to see as well. The good news is that I can edit all of the pictures and brighten them up so that they can be seen. I just ran out of time last night. So, I will finish editing all the pictures this evening and post them tonight.
Now that all the technical stuff is out of the way, I can tell you that the field trip was GREAT!!. We had so much fun. Max told me and Marsha (his amazing teacher) several times, "this is the best field trip ever". I got lots of pictures of Max with his friends. We all got to ride horses, jump on inflatable, ride in a horse-drawn covered wagon, and visit a petting zoo. Even our pre-school friends that are in wheel-chairs were able to ride. We were so excited for them. Max did a great job staying with the group and following directions (most of the time...it was really hard not to wander back to the inflatables when we had to wait in line for other things.). When it was time to go home, Max did not want to ride home with me. In his words, "Mama, I just need to stay at pre-school and ride with my friends." So, he rode the bus back to preschool, and the following is the conversation he had with Marsha.

Max: "Marsha, what is that on your arm?" As, he rubs her arm up and down
Marsha: "Oh, that's just a mole. Some people have them, and I just happy to be one of the lucky ones."
Max continues to rub Marsha's arm and is quiet for a minute.
Max: "Marsha what is so lucky about that mole?"
Marsha: “Max, I just don’t even know what to say.”
Max: “ok”

And my favorite conversation…

Marsha as she changes Max’s pull-up: “Max we are not going to go to the potty today before you get on the bus, because we are late and the bus is waiting. We just stayed on our field trip a little bit longer than we meant to.”

Max: “But Marsha, we can’t go home. We haven’t learned anything today and I didn’t do my centers with you.”

Marsha: “Well, that’s ok. We just had a fun day on our field trip. Sometimes we just have fun days.”

Max: “That is not ok…we didn’t learn anything.”

Marsha: “Well we will just have to try again tomorrow”

Max: “Ok, well I guess I’ll give it a try tomorrow.”

seems to me.. it has been time and pics are due..Just to guilt you even more - sometimes I look at pics of Max and Maggie just to not think about everything - I used to just come play or sit at your house but now my coping method is reduced to pics so if you could supply an addict with ample drugs over the next two weeks it would be nice.
